The hit indie RTS, They Are Billions has reached a new major milestone this week. The PC version of the game is officially leaving Early Access status and has formally reached version 1.0. And to go along with it, the game is getting a new campaign: The New Empire.
Developed by Spanish studio Numantian Games, They Are Billions released in 2017 as an early access title. It combined the classic strategy and planning of an RTS with the outnumbered struggle of a zombie apocalypse.
Now that it has left early access, a new, 60-hour campaign will be available to all players. The campaign, called The New Empire, follows the story of Quintus Crane, the land’s ruler, as he announces a plan to take back the zombie-infested outer-lands.
If you hopped on the They Are Billions wagon back when it first released and wanted a reason to return, or if you were waiting for a reason to get into the game for the first time, this is a fantastic time.
