Golem Gates won us over when it released last year. Now the card/RTS game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Golem Gates releases on PlayStation 4 on May 28, a few days before the Xbox and Switch (May 31).
Announced in a launch trailer, we see the Harbinger, the game’s protagonist, saying some dramatic prose about being the ultimate warrior, while scenes of bizarre, sci-fi enemies and dramatic battles appear on the screen.
Not seen in the trailer is the unique, card-based feature that Golem Gates uses to shake up the usual RTS formula. Players have a collection of “glyphs” that they take into each mission. These glyphs are used to deploy troops and are chosen out of a shuffled pile, much like in card games. The element of deck building and randomness encourages unexpected and exciting gameplay on top of the already-intense nature of RTS management.

Golem Gates is available now on Steam PC, and will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this month. Both versions of the game cost $24.99.
