Industry Pro Expects Age of Empires 4 News This April

If what we’re hearing can be trusted, news about Age of Empires 4 is nearly here. Someone with some inside information is implying news about the medieval RTS game is going to unveil this April.

To be more specific, games journalist Jeff Grubb recently broke down the list of events taking place at the Summer Games Mess. They noticed that Microsoft has an event presentation on April 10. Grubb believes this to be the only thing Microsoft is doing before E3 2021 in June and that Age of Empires 4 will be a part of it.

“They will be talking about Age of Empires in some way on that day. So, look out for that. That game is probably a sequel, we know Age of Empires 4 is coming. Chances are, if they are going to have a solo event, that they will probably be talking about that.”

If true, this would be the first big detail about the game since it’s reveal in 2019. We’ve been hearing sprinklings of information about the game from developers Relic Entertainment, but full picture facts remain absent.

Even so, we remain skeptical. Age of Empires is one of the best known RTS games of all time. It would seem almost strange for Microsoft to show what they have in a small event only a few months before E3, one of the biggest game showcase events of the year. It’s possible that they have something else to show instead. But at the same time, maybe Grubb knows something we don’t, leading to him making these statements.

Either way, between this and E3 later, there’s a very solid chance we will hear at least something about Age of Empires 4 this year. We can’t wait to see what they have planned.
